Watersedge Rec Council will host the Aquafina Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run Competition, formerly known as Pepsi MLB PHR, on Friday, May 16, 2008 at 6pm at the Watersedge Ball Fields on Bullneck Road in Dundalk. Check in and late registration will begin at 5 pm.
PHR is a FREE skills competition that provides boys and girls, ages 7 to 14, the opportunity to showcase their pitching, hitting and running abilities. Winners can advance through four levels of competition, including Team Championship events at the 30 Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the MLB All-Star Game.
The Pitch, Hit and Run contest is designed to test 3 of the most fundamental aspects of baseball:
Pitch - Throw pitches at a designated "Strike Zone".
Hit - Hit from a stationary tee for accuracy and distance.
Run - Run from second base to home plate for time.
Boys and girls will compete together in four age groups: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14. Age is determined as of July 17, 2008.
To register, call Debbie at 410-284-1607 and download the registration flyer and bring it with you the day of the event. Forms will also be available at the registration table.
Please provide a copy of participant's birth certificate with completed and signed registration and waiver form.
